Projection Sculpture

Illuminart’s projection sculpture combines animated projection and structural forms to form a magical illusion of a structure coming to life with light and image. We have created pieces for festivals and as backdrops for performance. In the right setting they may also be a beautiful, unusual audiovisual public art piece.  The technique complements our work in building projection, architectural projection and immersive events, offering a new way to interact with light and sound.

Highlights of our work in this area include Fractured Heart Interactive, a projection sculpture created in collaboration with Gotye – as a  backdrop to Gotye live performance during the 2011 ARIA Awards ceremony. The bespoke projection sculpture featured animated pixel mapped animations based on the film clip for the song and was developed into an interactive sculpture presented at VIVID 2012 and at the National Film and Sound Archive 2013-2015.
