Vent has a passion for the creative arts.
He spent the first 15 years of his working life in Theatre & Entertainment Production, working for organisations such as The Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust, The Ensemble Theatre, Nimrod Theatre, The Festival of Sydney, The Sydney Committee, World Expo ’88 and on many productions including CATS, Spike Milligan (Stage Director), The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (Audio Engineer), Australia, China & New York, The Lindsay Kemp Company (Stage Director), Amandla (Stage Director) and World Expo ’88 (Head of Stage Management Department), to name a few.
In 1989 he started a Corporate Event Production company working with clients including WordPerfect, NEC, Adobe Software and Microsoft.
Since moving to the Blue Mountains, Vent and his partner Gerlinde Thomas started iVent Services, a Web Design and Hosting business which provided leading edge web services to clients locally, nationally and internationally. iVent Services operated successfully for 16 years and amassed an impressive and varied client list under the directorship of Vent and Gerlinde.
iVent Services was sold in February 2016. The business continues to operate under its new ownership.
Vent served on the Board of the Blue Mountains Regional Business Chamber for 6 years; 2 years as Vice President and 3 years as President.
