Liverpool, New South Wales, 2170
11th-14th, 18th-21st August 2022, from sunset to 10pm
Liverpool’s iconic Macquarie Mall was transformed into a snowy wonderland for the “Winterblast – European Night Market” during August 2022. Capturing the last bite of Greater Sydney’s Winter wonder people meandered along a luminous light trail that activated the full length of the mall with all the joy and delight of a frosty starlit European Winter.
Highlighting a rich immersion of cascading snow, the thrill of real ice skating, local music, arts and crafts, circus workshops, delectable European treats and mulled wine, illuminart’s ambient projection effects adorned the beautiful architecture of St Luke’s Anglican Church and the Memorial School of Arts.
Our creative projection design added to the play of light on the surface of the two buildings with their two distinctly different mood themed projections.
St Luke’s was wrapped on two sides with illuminart’s Winter landscape oriented visualisations and treatments, connecting the walking trail and complementing the energy of the Liverpool community.
Plasma themed illuminations on the facade of the Memorial School of Arts provided an astral backdrop to a group of beautiful giant globes strewn across the courtyard in cosmic hypercolour.
The automated, remote monitored installations ran nightly from Sunset until 10pm, displaying a 15 minute themed projection loop at each site.
Both buildings were highlights along the Macquarie Mall as part of Liverpool City Council’s Winter Blast activation trail.
