Warrumbungle Shire Council
Binnia Street, Coolah
7 December 2024
Illuminart were invited to Christmas in Coolah, a joyful, family-focused celebration that brought creativity, community, and local wildlife together in a vibrant summer gathering. At the heart of the event was a dazzling projection display, lighting up the façade of Coolah Custom Cars with playful animations of Australian animals from the Warrumbungle region.
A glowing inflatable bilby from the Nylon Zoo collection captured hearts young and old, offering a gentle, larger-than-life reminder of the native creatures that inspire regional identity. Throughout the day, families enjoyed a nearby storytime activation, while in the evening, children danced and played under the warm night sky.
During storytime, a local artist directed rotating arts, crafts and activities with children. The hands-on workshop was a unique and encouraging art experience. The children’s artwork, was projected during the evening, so that their creations became a key feature of the festival’s vibrant display and added a layer of excitement and pride to the festivities.
With illuminart’s Epson-powered projections bathing the street in brilliant colour, and the sound of live local music filling the air, young folk didn’t hesitate to dance in the light and add a bit of shadowplay! Coolah Christmas brought together art, nature, and community in a truly memorable way.
