We are looking for people with an interest in live media and audiovisual media, to work with us as trainees to support the Jack In installation at Shimmering West.
Your role will be to caretake Jack-in on scheduled nights, to do your own impromptu Jack In presentations and to help out anyone else who wants to Jack In. Consider it a supported menteeship with Illuminart to develop skills in live media art. There is a nightly fee to cover your time and we are looking for people willing to work three nights or more with us during the Fringe festival. The usual hours will be 8:30 pm for 3-4 hours per night. Training will be provided during the first weekend of the Fringe. Future opportunities may arise from this to work with Illuminart so we are interested particularly in people with interests in live media art, public projection, digital media making and VJing. This is an opportunity for you to experiment with new formats. This callout goes especially to students of the Adelaide College of Arts, and University of South Australia (as this opportunity is supported by the Helpmann Academy).
To register your interest in being one of our Jack In Crew with us please email jackin [at] illuminart.com.au and tell us about yourself, what interests you about working with Jack In and what you’d like to put into it. We’re delighted if you have your own laptop and even more enthused if you have your own film(s), video loops, or other digital media that you’d be willing to jack in and share.
If you have questions about this opportunity please email or give us a call… the number is on the poster.
