Quirindi Christmas

The Quirindi Silo Art Committee are launching their first ever Christmas Light and Sound Spectacular! Join the community for a truly unique Christmas projection at Quirindi Silo Art, combined with a fabulous evening street market with a variety of entertainment!

Christmas comes to life in a wonderful Australian atmosphere. Bring the children, grandchildren, neices and nephews, bring your chairs, for an unmissable Christmas Experience. Entertaining music will lead you through the 30 minute countdown from 7.30pm for a show start at 8pm.

Experience a wonderful 25 minute light and sound show which connects skilled animators and illustrators from Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Perth, Wagga Wagga, Tamworth, Encounter Bay, Clare and Quirindi, with Christmas contributions from the local community.

Children and those who refuse to grow old can search for hungry kookaburras and goannas, or galahs and kangaroos in Christmas hats, a Rusty Holden Ute, backyard Christmas cricket, Santa’s sleigh and reindeers, and a very Aussie Santa having a sleigh of a time in the outback, through revealing Gamilaroi cultural stories and an action packed Aussie christmas singalong.

Then settle back for an exciting visitation from old Saint Niklaus in a gorgeous animated version of one of the most popular Christmas stories of all time, ‘A Night Before Christmas’. This wonderful show was originally commissioned by Rockhampton Cathedral College for St Joseph’s Cathedral, and it is a privilege and delight to be able to now share it for the enjoyment of Quirindi’s visitors and community. This version includes local narration by Reverend Kevin Porter.

The projection show repeats twice during the evening, repeating at 8.30pm and the Christmas program continues for the whole month through until the 26th of December 2023.

Join us at the Launch on the 25th of November for a variety of amazing activities from 5pm to 9pm. The Quirindi Silo Art Committee and Quirindi Country Markets have turned Station Street into a Christmas showcase with over 40 market stalls, food and drink vendors, children’s activities, live entertainment, the Rotary Chocolate Wheel, the drawing of the Liverpool Plains Business Chamber Shop local draw, the Lighting of the Official Council Christmas Tree and, of course, a visit from Santa!

Entertainment is being headlined by harmony hugging, story-telling, genre hopping duo “The Better Days” with other local musical entertainment from Steve Crane , Christian Harvest Group and the Encore Dance Group.

Following the launch, the Christmas Light and Sound Show will continue to run, at the Quirindi Silos, from Sunday 26 November until Tuesday 26 December, with the Countdown starting at 8.00 pm, the Show starting at 8.30 pm and then repeating at 9.00 pm.

You can also tune in to the show sound on 88.6FM!
