This year Illuminart and artists introduced Pedal Powered Lantern Making Workshops, where festival visitors could make their own Lantern to take home. These pedal powered sewing machines are powered by renewable energy (that is… you and your cycling legs!)
The lantern makers stall was originally to be held at the Old Woollen Mill markets, but due to the market closure was moved to 20 Main St, at the Gallery and Gifts shop. It was open from 7pm – 10pm nightly from the 13th to the 23rd of December.
Artists Victoria Harrison, Lyn-K Harrison, Anne Griffiths and Karen Fennell assisted participants to make a unique lantern to take home.
If you are interested in booking the lantern makers bikes for future events, enquire by calling Victoria on 08 8389 6249 or 0400 099 926.
