Illuminart’s fantastic Mood Lanterns were created by artists in residence, and have been very admired at Red Lime Shack…. We have often been asked if they are available for sale!
Now you do have the chance to create your very own Mood Lantern or to help make one for the Red Lime Shack with our help, by participating in a Mood Lantern Workshop.
Our first for 2014 will be held in Port Adelaide, with the main making session happening on the afternoon of Sunday March 2nd.
Its a fun DIY workshop using salvaged materials to make new lanterns for Red Lime Shack or to give away as gifts (or keep for yourself!). Great for people who love op shops, fabric swaps, and the fun of craft and sewing.
The lanterns take 2hrs to make but as everyone loves to embellish them, you can finish them at home if you want to.
Cost for participating: $15 cash. plus material you already have or have collected from op-shops. (Glowing interactive LED modules that you can use to illuminate your lantern are an optional extra, approx $50)
Dates:
27 Feb: Meeting at Red Lime Shack- talk about what fabrics to collect
March 1st: Optional op shopping to collect garments that can be salvaged into new lanterns.
March 2nd: The DIY workshop itself at Red Lime Shack – approx 2 hrs.
