The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters has commissioned a temporary public art for projection onto the external façade of Norwood Concert Hall during the City’s Cultural Heritage Festival planned for May 2012.
The work, entitled Stepping Into The Light, will be a large scale work created under the direction of renowned South Australian multimedia artist, Cindi Drennan and her company Illuminart. The work will interpret and reflect the community’s deep connection to the Norwood Concert Hall as the focal point of performance and social and cultural history in the area.
The Project, with the support of Arts SA, will provide an opportunity for two (2) emerging illustrators to work under the guidance of established artists on this exciting and demanding project. The emerging illustrators will be mentored to make an artistic contribution to the processes involved in creating and delivering a large scale public art work. Through this experience they will gain valuable insight and practical knowledge concerning the production of work for the public realm.
